There was an upset in Willetton where higher ranked Cougars (2-1) were defeated by thirteenth ranked Tigers (1-1) 84-80 on Thursday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Cougars' 22 and made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Tigers forced 21 Cougars turnovers and outrebounded them 56-36 including a 32-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Alexandra Sharp (182-1997, college: Wake Forest) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws). Guard Emma Gandini (172-1994) helped adding 21 points and 9 rebounds. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Jessie Edwards (192-1995, college: Minnesota) responded with 8 points and 16 rebounds and Katharine Tudor scored 18 points. Cougars' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tigers left bottom position moving up to sixth place in League. Loser Cougars dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
