Regular Season Round 7: Rockingham F. - SW Slammers 108-44

Everything could happen in Rockingham at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Flames and bottom-ranked Slammers had identical 0-2 record. This time Flames used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Bunbury 108-44 on Thursday night. Flames dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Slammers' 24. Flames forced 31 Slammers turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Slammers' players. It was a great evening for German forward Patricia Brossmann (183-1997, college: San Diego) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Keely Hatch helped adding 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Flames players scored in double figures. Flames' coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side center Abbey Hall (186-2004) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Skye Palmer scored 5 points and 8 rebounds. Despite that victory Flames went down to ninth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Slammers still closes the standings with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
