Very expected game when 9th ranked Cairns Taipans (8-16) were crushed on the road by fourth ranked Perth Wildcats (16-9) 106-87 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American guard Bryce Cotton (182-1992, college: Providence, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists. The other American import guard Michael Frazier II (191-1994, college: Florida) chipped in 19 points. Perth Wildcats' coach Scott Morrison used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Power forward Keanu Pinder (205-1995, college: Arizona) produced 24 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American guard Tahjere McCall (193-1994, college: Tennessee St.) added 13 points and 11 assists respectively for the guests. Five Perth Wildcats and four Cairns Taipans players scored in double figures. Perth Wildcats maintains fourth position with 16-9 record. Cairns Taipans lost third consecutive game.
