Everything could happen in East Burwood at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Spectres and bottom-ranked Wildcats had identical 0-0 record. This time Spectres used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Eltham 70-55 on Saturday night. Spectres forced 24 Wildcats turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international guard Rachel Antoniadou (175-1996, college: FSU) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Megan Mullings (185-1992, college: Alaska-Anch.) helped adding 10 points and 6 rebounds. Five Spectres players scored in double figures. Spectres' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Korinne Campbell (184-1988, college: WVU) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import swingman Hailey Leidel (180-1997, college: UMass) scored 18 points. Spectres (1-0) left bottom position moving up to seventh place in League. Loser Wildcats still closes the standings with one game lost. Spectres will meet at home Rangers (#21) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Wildcats will play against Ballarat Rush (#15) in Wendouree and hope to get finally their first victory.
