Regular Season Round 7: SW Slammers - Cockburn C. 22-111

Very expected game in Bunbury where bottom-ranked Slammers (0-3) were rolled over by sixth ranked Cougars (2-1) 111-22 on Saturday. Cougars held Slammers to an opponent 15.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Cougars forced 42 Slammers turnovers and outrebounded them 56-27 including a 28-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Slammers' players. It was a great evening for Tia Morgan who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points and 4 assists. Guard Jewel Williams (168-2001) helped adding 25 points and 4 steals. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. At the losing side Javene Fitch responded with 5 points and center Abbey Hall (186-2004) scored 4 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cougars moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Slammers still closes the standings with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
