Important game to mention about took place in Sydney. Third ranked Illawarra Hawks (19-9) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging second-best Kings (19-9) 87-84 in the fight for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kings. Strangely Kings outrebounded Illawarra Hawks 44-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. American guard Justinian Jessup (201-1998, college: Boise St.) nailed 24 points for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Antonius Cleveland (196-1994, college: SEMO) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Xavier Cooks (203-1995, college: Winthrop) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Jarell Martin (208-1994, college: LSU) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Kings in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Illawarra Hawks moved-up to second place, which they share with Sydney.
