We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Melbourne where 5th ranked Hume City Broncos (3-4) were defeated by sixth ranked Vikings (3-3) 107-103 on Saturday. Vikings looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Edward Bourke fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American forward DMonte Evans (190, college: Bluefield) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Vikings' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Christopher Elder (180-1989, college: St.Francis, IL) produced 25 points and 9 assists and forward Max Viitala (196, college: TWU) added 24 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Vikings and four Hume City Broncos players scored in double figures. Vikings moved-up to fifth place in League. Hume City Broncos at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Vikings will meet higher ranked Cougars (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hume City Broncos will have a break next round.
