Not a big story in a game in Dandenong where 17th ranked Rangers (1-3) were defeated by leader Mount Gambier Pioneers (4-0) 92-77 on Sunday. Mount Gambier Pioneers shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. It was a great evening for Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (189-1992, college: Portland) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Sherrie Calleia (172-1999) helped adding 20 points and 8 assists. Swingman Luisa Fakalata (175-2003) responded with 26 points and American forward Emilee Harmon (189, college: Ohio St.) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Mount Gambier Pioneers and four Rangers players scored in double figures. Mount Gambier Pioneers keep a position of League leader. Loser Rangers dropped to the eighteenth place with three games lost. Mount Gambier Pioneers will meet Hawks (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rangers will play against Tornadoes (#3) and hope to win that game.
