An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Melbourne. Second ranked Jets faced 4th ranked Camberwell. Guests from Sunbury (6-1) smashed host Camberwell (4-4) 95-75. They outrebounded Camberwell 41-27 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Ishmael Sanders (188, college: C-N) scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Gerald Blackshear (205-1997, college: Detroit) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Jets players scored in double figures. James Guley responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Luke Shelley (188-1991, college: KWC) scored 18 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jets maintains second position in League with 6-1 record having just five point less than leader Geelong S. Loser Camberwell keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Jets will meet Hume City Broncos (#6) in the next round. Camberwell will play against Cougars in McKinnon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
