Date: May 15, 2022
Everything could happen in Melbourne at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Huskies and 11th ranked Tigers had identical 2-2 record. But Tigers were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Hobart 97-84 on Sunday night. Huskies outrebounded Tigers 46-26 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by Harry Froling who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and German center Ole Angerstein (208-1995) supported him with 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Huskies players scored in double figures. Even 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Mason Gaze (198, college: Lindenwood) did not help to save the game for Tigers. Guard Michael Wearne (188-1996, college: St.Rose, NY) added 26 points for lost side. Tigers' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Huskies (3-2) moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser Tigers dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. Huskies will meet at home higher ranked Ringwood Hawks (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tigers will have a break next round.
