Another exciting game was played in Hermit Park between eighth ranked Salties and 5th ranked Townsville Heat where Salties (3-1) beat Townsville Heat (2-2) on the road 96-88. It was a key game for the top position in League. The former international forward Makuach Maluach (200-98, college: N.Mexico) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Tad Dufelmeier (183-1996, college: CUI) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Salties players scored in double figures. Forward Richard Peachey (196-2003) answered with 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ethan Betts (188, college: Umpqua CC) added 20 points and 5 assists in the effort for Townsville Heat. Townsville Heat's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Salties keep a position of League leader. Townsville Heat at the other side dropped to the eighth place with two games lost. Salties will play against Cairns Marlins (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Townsville Heat will have a break next round.
