Regular Season Round 18: NW Tasmania - Ringwood H. 80-72

There was an upset when higher ranked Ringwood Hawks (4-3) lost to ninth ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (4-2) in Ulverstone 72-80 on Saturday. NW Tasmania Thunder forced 22 Ringwood Hawks turnovers. Ben Woolley notched 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Jacob Furphy supported him with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four NW Tasmania Thunder players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 8 rebounds by American guard Tim Guers (190-1996, college: St.Anselm) did not help to save the game for Ringwood Hawks. Robert Heath added 15 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. NW Tasmania Thunder moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Ringwood Hawks dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
