Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Norwood Flames (4-3) rolled over bottom-ranked Eastern Mavericks (0-7) in Marden 102-78 on Saturday. Norwood Flames forced 22 Eastern Mavericks turnovers. Forward Raymond Harding (198, college: Southeast CC) notched a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Walter McBride (195-1974, college: Xavier) supported him with 19 points. Four Norwood Flames players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points and 18 rebounds by American forward Keouvion McCalop (203, college: Dakota Bottin.) did not help to save the game for Eastern Mavericks. His fellow American import guard James Legan (190-1987, college: ECU) added 21 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Norwood Flames maintains sixth position in League with 4-3 record. Loser Eastern Mavericks still closes the standings with seven games lost. Norwood Flames will meet at home league's leader North Adelaide Rockets in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Eastern Mavericks will play against South Adelaide Panthers (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
