We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourth ranked Hunters (5-1) edged 3rd ranked Hawks (5-4) in Wollongong 86-85 on Saturday. Hunters shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Naturalized British forward Ryan Beisty (200-1995, college: Regis Univ.) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Matur Maluach (196, college: UNB) supported him with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Four Hunters players scored in double figures. Even 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals by American point guard Kiwi Gardner (170-1993, college: Providence) did not help to save the game for Hawks. Forward Harry Morris (198-2002) added 21 points and 7 rebounds. Hunters moved-up to third place in League. Loser Hawks dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
