Very predictable result in Melbourne where fourteenth ranked Sabres (4-4) defeated 21th ranked Tigers (1-6) 62-56 on Sunday. Forward Georgia Pineau (185-1997, college: Boston Coll.) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Amy ONeill (170-1996, college: SFC) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Forward Tess Heal (178-2004) produced 27 points and 8 rebounds and Zoe Hurley added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sabres moved-up to thirteenth place in League. Loser Tigers keep the twenty first position with six games lost. Sabres will meet Rangers (#20) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tigers will play against the league's second-placed Mount Gambier Pioneers having rather not much hope for a victory.
