There was a minor upset in Greensborough where 10th ranked Ringwood Hawks (4-4) were crushed by thirteenth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (4-4) 92-70 on Sunday. Diamond Valley Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ringwood Hawks' 24. The best player for the winners was naturalized Canadian guard Dejan Vasiljevic (190-1997, college: Miami, FL) who scored 31 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Sudanese forward Ngor Manyang (200-1993) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tim Guers (190-1996, college: St.Anselm) who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Kyle Daggett (198, college: Shepherd) added 16 points and 12 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Diamond Valley Eagles moved-up to eleventh place in League. Diamond Valley Eagles will meet at home higher ranked Kilsyth Cobras (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ringwood Hawks will play against Bendigo Braves (#15) and hope to secure a win.
