There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Dandenong Rangers (3-6) defeated at home higher ranked Frankston Blues (5-3) 105-101 on Sunday. Dandenong Rangers looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Lawson Eales who led the winners and scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Declan Soukup (190-1994, college: Assumption) accounted for 11 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side. Point guard Lucas Barker (183-1993, college: Indianapolis) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and guard Lachlan Barker (188-1996) added 31 points and 5 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for Frankston Blues in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Frankston Blues' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Dandenong Rangers moved-up to fifteenth place in League. Loser Frankston Blues keep the eighth position with three games lost. Dandenong Rangers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Frankston Blues will play against Eltham Wildcats (#19) and hope to secure a win.
