Regular Season Round 21: Eltham W. - Frankston B. 76-73

The most exciting game of round 21 in the State League took place in Eltham. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Frankston Blues (4-6) to nineteenth ranked Wildcats (3-6) 76-73 on Friday evening. Wildcats outrebounded Frankston Blues 59-30 including a 25-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Anneli Maley (187-1998, college: TCU) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 27 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Rebecca Pizzey (190-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Wildcats' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Darcee Garbin (188-1994) who recorded a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and international guard Tessa Lavey (172-1993) added 4 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Wildcats maintains nineteenth place in League with 3-6 record. Frankston Blues at the other side keep the fourteenth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
