No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Wanneroo (7-3) edged 9th ranked Cougars (6-5) in Joondalup 87-86 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Wanneroo forced 19 Cougars turnovers. Swingman Julian Pesava (193-1995, college: WBU) nailed 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American swingman CJ Turnage (201-1995, college: SVSU) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Gavin Field (202-1989, college: UWG) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Carter Skaggs (196-1995, college: UNCW) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Cougars in the defeat. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. Cougars' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Wanneroo moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Cougars dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Wanneroo will meet Slammers (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cougars will play against Magic (#5) in Mandurah and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
