Regular Season Round 25: NGC Seahawks - Rockhampton 97-91

There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Seahawks (2-6) defeated higher ranked Rockets (4-5) in Runaway Bay 97-91 on Saturday. Seahawks looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international forward Jack McVeigh (203-1996, college: Nebraska) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and forward David Gurney (194-1985) accounted for 25 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Damian Prgomet (208-1996, college: SW Baptist) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Kendall Stephens (201-1994, college: Nevada) added 25 points respectively for Rockets in the defeat. Five Seahawks and four Rockets players scored in double figures. Seahawks maintains fifteenth place in League with 2-6 record. Loser Rockets dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Seahawks will meet higher ranked South West Metro Pirates (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rockets will play against Townsville Heat and hope to secure a win.
