There was a minor upset in Mandurah where 5th ranked Magic (8-5) was defeated by seventh ranked Cougars (7-5) 105-99 on Friday. Cougars had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Carter Skaggs (196-1995, college: UNCW) scored 27 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Gavin Field (202-1989, college: UWG) chipped in 20 points during the contest. American DeQuan Abrom (188-1996, college: Belm.Abbey) responded with 42 points (!!!) and 4 steals and his fellow American import swingman Jay Bowie (196-1992, college: Marist) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars maintains seventh position in League with 7-5 record. Loser Magic keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
