Regular Season Round 23: Casey C. - Sandringham S. 65-77

There was an upset when higher ranked Cavaliers (6-4) lost to thirteenth ranked Sabres (6-6) in Casey 65-77 on Saturday. Strangely Cavaliers outrebounded Sabres 47-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Turkish guard Funda Nakkasoglu (173-1995, college: Florida) who led the winners and scored 24 points. Point guard Amy ONeill (170-1996, college: SFC) accounted for 8 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Sabres players scored in double figures. Sabres' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-1990, college: Stanford) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Louise Brown (189-1995, college: Tennessee) added 9 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Cavaliers in the defeat. Sabres maintains thirteenth place in League with 6-6 record. Loser Cavaliers dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
