There was no surprise in Gold Coast where 13th ranked Roar (2-5) was defeated by second ranked Rollers (8-1) 86-73 on Saturday. Rollers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Preston Le Gassick (182-2003) scored 27 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Tanner Krebs (198-1996, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. American forward Spencer Parker (201-1993, college: BGSU, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and guard Nelson Larkins (180-1996) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rollers maintains second position in League with 8-1 record behind leader Mackay M. Loser Roar dropped to the fifteenth place with five games lost. Rollers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Roar's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Brisbane Brisbane Capitals.
