Regular Season Round 23: Frankston B. - Launceston T. 70-81

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Tornadoes (6-3) defeated 14th ranked Frankston Blues (4-7) in Seaford 81-70 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. The former international power forward Kelsey Griffin (188-1987, college: Nebraska) accounted for 28 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. International guard Tessa Lavey (172-1993) came up with 22 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Darcee Garbin (188-1994) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Frankston Blues in the defeat. Four Frankston Blues players scored in double figures. Frankston Blues' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tornadoes moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Frankston Blues dropped to the fifteenth position with seven games lost. Tornadoes will meet Tigers (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Frankston Blues will play against the league's second-placed Lady Braves (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
