There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Ringwood Hawks (8-7) defeated 7th ranked Waverley Falcons (7-5) in Heathmont 84-79 on Friday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ringwood Hawks made 7 blocks. American guard Tim Guers (190-1996, college: St.Anselm) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard Emmett Naar (185-1994, college: St.Mary's, CA) supported him with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds by forward Tristan Forsyth (208, college: CBU) did not help to save the game for Waverley Falcons. The former international point guard Daniel Dillon (193-1986, college: Arizona) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
