Regular Season Round 31: Kilsyth LC - Geelong LS 73-95

Very expected game when 12th ranked Lady Cobras (7-9) were smashed by sixth ranked Geelong Supercats (11-4) in Kilsyth 95-73 on Sunday. Geelong Supercats outrebounded Lady Cobras 49-28 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Sara Blicavs (189-1993) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Eve Braslis (185-2000, college: Pepperdine) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Geelong Supercats' coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Carly Turner (183-1995, college: St.Mary's, CA) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Georgia Booth (174-2003) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Lady Cobras in the defeat. Geelong Supercats moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Lady Cobras dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Geelong Supercats will meet Rangers (#19) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Lady Cobras will play against Falcons (#11) and hope to secure a win.
