No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Norwood Flames (9-6) crushed 9th ranked Central District Lions (3-12) in Gawler 95-74 on Sunday. Norwood Flames looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American center Anthony Green (208-1996, college: Northeastern) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Trey McBride (188, college: Northwood) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Norwood Flames players scored in double figures. Even 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists by American point guard Bijan Johnson (183-1997, college: NM Military) did not help to save the game for Central District Lions. Forward Magok Manyang (203-2002, college: LSUE) added 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Norwood Flames maintains fifth position in League with 9-6 record. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. Norwood Flames will meet Eastern Mavericks (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Central District Lions will play against Sturt Sabres and hope to secure a win.
