Regular Season Round 38: Maitland M. - Norths Bears 98-66

The most important game in the last round took place in Maitland between third ranked Norths Soul Sports Bears (9-7) and fourth ranked Mustangs (10-6) on Sunday night. Norths Soul Sports Bears were crushed by Mustangs on the road 66-98. Mustangs dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Norths Soul Sports Bears' 32. Mustangs forced 27 Norths Soul Sports Bears turnovers. New Zealand center James Hunter (208-1991, college: S.Dakota) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Daniel Millburn contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Mustangs players scored in double figures. Forward Brandon Freire (201) replied with 7 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Brennan Rymer (183, college: Azusa Pacific) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Norths Soul Sports Bears. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mustangs moved-up to third place in League. Norths Soul Sports Bears at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Mustangs are looking forward to face Bandits (#7) in Albury in the next round. Norths Soul Sports Bears will play at home against Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
