There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Dolphins (10-8) lost to eighth ranked Meteorettes (10-9) in Cairns 73-80 on Friday. Meteorettes dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Dolphins' 26. They outrebounded Dolphins 54-34 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Meteorettes looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Meteorettes made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-1994, college: S.Florida) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals and Danesha Bobongie supported her with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by guard Amy Lewis (175-1986, college: Troy) did not help to save the game for Dolphins.
