Rather predictable result when New Zealand Breakers (3-1) defeated on the road Melbourne Phoenix (1-3) 85-77 on Saturday. New Zealand Breakers made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was New Zealand guard Izayah Mauriohooho-Leafa (188-1996, college: Sacramento St., agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. New Zealand forward Robert Loe (211-1991, college: St.Louis) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Kyle Adnam (186-1993) who recorded 17 points and 7 assists and the former international swingman Mitch Creek (196-1992) added 20 points respectively. Melbourne Phoenix's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. New Zealand Breakers will meet Cairns Taipans (#4) on the road in the next round.
