The game had a very big importance for eighth-ranked Adelaide 36ers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Adelaide 36ers defeated much higher ranked Kings in Sydney 92-88. Adelaide 36ers made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American guard Craig Randall II (193-1996, college: UT Martin) fired 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-1988, college: Pepperdine) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Randall II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Derrick Walton Jr (185-1995, college: Michigan) produced 23 points and 6 assists and forward Xavier Cooks (203-1995, college: Winthrop) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Five Adelaide 36ers and four Kings players scored in double figures. Kings' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Defending champion Kings still keep top place with two games lost. Kings will play next round against strong Cairns Taipans trying to get back on the winning streak. Adelaide 36ers will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Melbourne Phoenix on the road.
