Rather predictable result when seventh ranked United (4-4) won against bottom-ranked Illawarra Hawks (1-7) in Gwynneville 106-100 on Saturday. Canadian guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes (193-1994, college: FSU) nailed 32 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international center Isaac Humphries (216-1998, college: Kentucky) accounted for 20 points and 12 rebounds. Four United players scored in double figures. United's coach Dean Vickerman used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Samson Froling (212-2000, college: Creighton) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and American guard Tyler Harvey (194-1993, college: EWU) added 21 points and 4 steals respectively for Illawarra Hawks in the defeat.
