An interesting game for New Zealand Breakers (10-3) which played road game in Cairns against 4th ranked Cairns Taipans (7-4). First ranked New Zealand Breakers managed to get a 11-point victory 82-71. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jamaal Brantley (200-1993, college: Cameron) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import Barry Brown Jr (190-1996, college: Kansas St.) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Brantley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international power forward Keanu Pinder (205-1995, college: Arizona) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and New Zealand forward Samuel Waardenburg (208-1999, college: Miami, FL) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Cairns Taipans' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. New Zealand Breakers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-3 record. Cairns Taipans at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. New Zealand Breakers will play against Perth Wildcats (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Cairns Taipans will play against Adelaide 36ers (#6) in Findon and hope to get back on the winning track.
