WNBL top team - Bendigo Spirit (5-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Sydney Flames (0-5) 77-60. They outrebounded Sydney Flames 38-26 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international swingman Anneli Maley (187-1998, college: TCU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and the former international power forward Kelsey Griffin (188-1987, college: Nebraska) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Bendigo Spirit's coach Kennedy Kereama allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international forward Keely Froling (188-1996, college: SMU) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Shyla Heal (167-2001, agency: LBM Management) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Bendigo Spirit have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Sydney Flames at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
