Regular Season Round 13: Adelaide - Brisbane 87-84
Date: December 29, 2022
No shocking result in a game in Findon where fifth ranked Adelaide 36ers (10-9) edged 9th ranked Bullets (5-14) 87-84 on Thursday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American forward Robert Franks (201-1996, college: WSU) stepped up and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Antonius Cleveland (196-1994, college: SEMO) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side the former international guard Nathan Sobey (190-1990, college: Wyoming) responded with 24 points and the former international center Aron Baynes (208-1986, college: WSU) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Five Bullets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Adelaide 36ers went down to seventh position due to points difference. Bullets lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 14 games lost. Adelaide 36ers will meet at home higher ranked New Zealand Breakers (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bullets will play against the league's second-placed Cairns Taipans (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
