The most exciting game of round 13 in the NBL took place in Cairns. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Adelaide 36ers (10-9) to fourth ranked Cairns Taipans (12-7) 86-83 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Adelaide 36ers. American point guard Shannon Scott (191-1992, college: Ohio St., agency: Slash Sports) fired 31 points and 4 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Tahjere McCall (193-1994, college: Tennessee St.) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Four Cairns Taipans players scored in double figures. American guard Antonius Cleveland (196-1994, college: SEMO) produced 16 points and the former international swingman Anthony Drmic (198-1992, college: Boise St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Cairns Taipans moved-up to second place. Adelaide 36ers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Cairns Taipans are looking forward to face Melbourne Phoenix (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Adelaide 36ers will play against New Zealand Breakers (#4) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
