Date: January 14, 2023
There was no surprise in Brisbane where 9th ranked Bullets (6-17) were defeated by sixth ranked United (13-12) 101-91 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American guard Rayjon Tucker (191-1997, college: UALR) who scored 30 points. Canadian guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes (193-1994, college: FSU) chipped in 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Aron Baynes (208-1986, college: WSU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Nathan Sobey (190-1990, college: Wyoming) added 18 points and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. United will meet Adelaide 36ers (#8) in the next round. Bullets will play against Illawarra Hawks in Gwynneville and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
