Regular Season Round 12: Melbourne - Perth 82-91

Date: January 29, 2023
There was a small surprise in Melbourne where fifth ranked Perth Lynx (9-6) defeated second-best Boomers (11-4) 91-82 on Sunday. Perth Lynx made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Amy Atwell (183-1998, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and American guard Robbi Ryan (175-1997, college: Arizona St.) who added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Tiffany Mitchell (175-1994, college: S.Carolina) with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international guard Kristy Wallace (180-1996, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) scored 22 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perth Lynx have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 9-6 record. Defending champion Boomers keep the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Townsville. Perth Lynx will meet at home higher ranked Townsville Fire (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Boomers will play against Bendigo Spirit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
