Regular Season Round 18: Illawarra - NZL Breakers 81-91

Very expected game in Gwynneville where 10th ranked Illawarra Hawks (3-25) were defeated by third ranked New Zealand Breakers (18-10) 91-81 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was American forward Jamaal Brantley (200-1993, college: Cameron) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import Barry Brown Jr (190-1996, college: Kansas St.) chipped in 22 points. Brantley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Samson Froling (212-2000, college: Creighton) who recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Tyler Harvey (194-1993, college: EWU) added 22 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. New Zealand Breakers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Cairns. Illawarra Hawks lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games.
