Regular Season Round 1: Illawarra H. - Maitland M. 61-71

Very significant was Mustangs' 71-61 road victory against Hawks. Mustangs held Hawks to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.5 percent accuracy of the winners and made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. American guard Sydney Hunter (183-1999, college: San Diego) nailed 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Hannah Fox accounted for 9 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Ella Dent came up with 15 points and 5 steals and Ebony Petre added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Hawks in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mustangs will play against BA CoE in Canberra in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hawks will play at home against Panthers to get more than just one victory in their record.
