Excellence used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Condell Park 95-70 on Saturday night. Excellence dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bankstown Bruins' 32. Excellence forced 20 Bankstown Bruins turnovers and outrebounded them 49-25 including a 21-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Alex Condon (203-2004) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and swingman Ben Henshall (195-2004) chipped in 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Excellence players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Jack Lopez (196-1994, college: Montana) responded with 22 points and Thomas Daus scored 2 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Bankstown Bruins' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Excellence will meet at home Mustangs in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bankstown Bruins will play against Norths Soul Sports Bears and hope to win that game.
