Regular Season Round 1: Cent.Coast C. - Hornsby S. 80-71

Crusaders used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Hornsby 80-71 on Saturday night. Crusaders forced 19 Spiders turnovers and outrebounded them 57-36 including a 30-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward James Trustum (192) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Hammish Loader chipped in 11 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Crusaders players scored in double figures. At the losing side Shareef Saipaia responded with 23 points and Thomas Gillis scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Crusaders will meet at home Sutherland Sharks in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Spiders will play against Bandits in Albury and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
