Regular Season Round 3: Newcastle F. - Canberra N. 61-52

There was no surprise when Nationals (1-3) lost to Falcons (3-0) in Newcastle 52-61 on Saturday. Falcons outrebounded Nationals 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Nicole Munger (180-1997, college: Michigan) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Abigail Curtin (185, college: Denver) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Lizzy Tonks (173, college: CSUN) came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Abbie Ketels added 6 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Nationals in the defeat. Falcons will meet Hills Hornets (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nationals will play against Sharks in Sutherland and hope to win that game.
