Regular Season Round 3: BA CoE - Penrith P. 110-37

There was no surprise in Canberra where Panthers (0-3) were outplayed by Excellence (5-0) 110-37 on Saturday. Excellence held Panthers to an opponent 21.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 64.2 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Panthers 56-20 including a 42-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Excellence looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Panthers' players. The best player for the winners was center Joshua Hughes (206-2005) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Center Rocco Zikarsky (217-2006) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Excellence players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Caleb Fetui-Fa who recorded 9 points and 6 rebounds and Noman Massimino added 4 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Excellence will meet at home Norths Soul Sports Bears in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Panthers will play against Crusaders (#9) in Terrigal and hope to get finally their first victory.
