Regular Season Round 3: McKinnon C. - Sherbrooke S. 56-72

There was a small surprise when Suns (1-1) won against Cougars (1-1) in McKinnon 72-56 on Sunday. Suns outrebounded Cougars 54-38 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Cougars' players. It was an exceptional evening for New Zealand forward Alicia Carline (190-1993, college: Portland St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 29 rebounds. Stephanie Pal accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Suns players scored in double figures. American forward Briana Gray (178, college: Weber St.) came up with 13 points and guard Emily Suckling (168, college: California, PA) added 13 points respectively for Cougars in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Suns will meet at home Devils in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cougars will play against Warriors and hope to win that game.
