The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Camberwell (2-1) in Melbourne on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Devils (2-0) 95-55. Devils forced 32 Camberwell turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Amanda Paschal (170-1996, college: Kentucky) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Center Dyani Ananiev (186-2004) contributed with 31 points and 6 steals for the winners. Paschal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Devils' coach Gerard Hillier felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gemma Fyffe answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Andrea Belmonte added 4 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Camberwell. Devils is looking forward to face Suns (#4) in Upwey in the next round. Camberwell will play on the road against Boomers in Bulleen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
