The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Jets (1-1) in Tullamarine. Visitors were rolled over by Hume City Broncos (3-0) 102-74. Hume City Broncos dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Jets' 32. They outrebounded Jets 43-28 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Troyce Manassa (193-1993, college: SSU) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Christopher Kaba (203-1988, college: N.Colorado) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Hume City Broncos players scored in double figures. Guard Nathan Marshall came up with 7 points and 6 assists and naturalized Canadian guard Maxwell Barkeley (188, college: Simon Fraser) added 15 points respectively for Jets in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hume City Broncos will play against Storm (#9) in Bellarine in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jets will play on the road against Melbourne Uni to get more than just one victory in their record.
