Everything could happen in Greensborough at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Eltham Wildcats and bottom-ranked Diamond Valley Eagles had identical 0-0 record. But Diamond Valley Eagles were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Eltham 87-77 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Eltham Wildcats outrebounded Diamond Valley Eagles 42-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Angus Glover (192-1998) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Owen Foxwell (187-2003) who added 25 points during the contest. Five Eltham Wildcats players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Dejan Vasiljevic (190-1997, college: Miami, FL) responded with 22 points and naturalized Sudanese forward Ngor Manyang (200-1993) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eltham Wildcats (1-0) left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 11 other teams. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 15 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
