There was an upset when higher ranked Sutherland Sharks (2-2) were edged at home by twelfth ranked Canberra Gunners (2-3) 73-71 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of center Glenn Morison (208-1999, college: St.Edward's) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds and point guard Dhal Fieg (180-2001, college: S.Georgia Tech) who added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side Geoffrey Gerlach (-1995) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and American Marquel Beasley (196-1993, college: Fort Lewis) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Canberra Gunners moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Maitland M. Loser Sutherland Sharks dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Albury W.B. and Keysborough C.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
