Regular Season Round 4: Waverley F. - Ringwood H. 71-81
Date: April 2, 2023
Everything could happen in Mount Waverley at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Ringwood Hawks and bottom-ranked Waverley Falcons had identical 0-0 record. But Waverley Falcons were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Heathmont 81-71 on Sunday night. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jonathan Lawton (188-1996, college: FSC, agency: IceBasket) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and the other American import forward Kyle Daggett (198, college: Shepherd) who added 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Lawton is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side American forward Dillon Stith (201-1992, college: St.Vincent) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and guard Dexter Kernich-Drew (199-1991, college: WSU) scored 14 points. Four Waverley Falcons players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ringwood Hawks (1-0) left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 11 other teams. Loser Waverley Falcons still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 15 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
